Hunter Launching Outerwear
They've put wellies on the map. And now Hunter is venturing into the world of outerwear.
The iconic Scottish footwear brand is set to launch an outerwear line this July, proving that rainy days call for more than chic yet durable boots, Style.com's Style File reports.
Expected to retail for $195 to $650, the offerings will include 12 styles for women, men, and children, including fur-trimmed parkas, wool peacoats, and classic trenches.
And though this is the company's most exciting news since it teamed up with Jimmy Choo, there's plenty more in store. An e-commerce site is slated for September, while eyewear and watches could be added down the road.
“When you consider two years ago we just had one rubber boot, and that it’s hard to get buyers to make that shift from boot to outerwear, it’s a tremendously successful launch,” says Hunter Boot USA CEO Wendy Svarre, estimating that outerwear will account for 6 percent of total sales.
