Case closed! Zooey Deschanel has dismissed a lawsuit she filed against Steve Madden.

In December 2010, Zooey Deschanel filed a lawsuit against Steve Madden, alleging that the shoe company never paid her the $2 million she was owed for an endorsement deal.

Now, it looks like Steve Madden is in the clear: the actress has dismissed the lawsuit, the Hollywood Reporter reports.

Deschanel objected to a Candie’s shoe called the “Zooey,” saying her agent had an oral contract with Steve Madden (designer, manufacturer and distributor of the footwear) that was never fulfilled.

Madden reportedly tried to negotiate the contract down to $1.5 million, but the New Girl actress says that she was still never paid.

So why drop the case now? Deschanel’s lawyer hasn’t commented, though it’s suspected that Deschanel received some sort of settlement.
