Taylor Swift Fronts InStyle’s ‘What’s Sexy Now’ Issue
Singer Taylor Swift blazes onto the cover of InStyle magazine’s June issue in a marigold Victoria Beckham dress. Fronting the annual “What’s Sexy Now” issue, she opens up about finding love.
For her second InStyle cover, the country-pop star manages to be both sunny and sultry. The matte gazar Beckham dress, from the Spring/Summer 2011 collection, has a sophisticated sculptural drape. As a girl who likes glitter, Swift also breaks out whopping Kwiat diamond fan earrings.
She tells the magazine she keeps an open mind when it comes to romance. “I just try to let love surprise me because you never know who you’re going to fall in love with. You never know who’s going to come into your life.”
“When I picture the person I want to end up with, I don’t think about what their career is, or what they look like. I picture the feeling I get when I’m with them,” she says. That element of surprise shapes the no-holds-barred lyrics of her hit love songs.
The 21-year-old Swift is currently on her Speak Now tour; the album sold over a million copies in its first week. If this doesn’t sound fantastical enough, imagine her as a Dr. Seuss character; she’ll pop up in the animated version of The Lorax in 2012. Will she sing for the trees?
Inside, the magazine heats up with this year’s “Sexy Dozen” portfolio, including shots of Patrick Dempsey, Usher, and Sofia Vergara, who joins Swift as a face of CoverGirl.
“We based the vibe of the story on Avedon’s portraits of Andy Warhol’s factory. Undone styling, real relaxed poses,” creative director Rina Stone tells FashionEtc.
