Lacquerous Launches for Renting Luxe Nail Polishes

With the twittersphere determining whats in and whats out with the flick of a manicured finger, there's more and more reason to rent and borrow.

Investments should be saved for go-to staple pieces while everything else should be cheap or exchangeable, because todays trend will likely be passé by noon.

The Rent the Runway philosophy has now trickled to the beauty world, with a recently-launched site called Lacquerous.

According to Refinery 29, Lacquerous is an invite-only site where members pay a flat rate of $18 a month and are sent three designer nail polish shades to enjoy for 30 days. After the month is up, members send the polishes back with a prepaid postage label, and three new polishes are delivered a few days later.

The site features 70 shades and nine brands to chose from, including Tom Ford, Deborah Lippmann, NARS, Butter London, OPI, Chanel, MAC, Dior, and Dolce & Gabbana.

Members create a "Lust List" of polishes they want to try, and will receive the shades as the inventory is available, while new hues and brands are constantly added.

A beauty blend of birch box, Netflix and Rent the Runway, Lacquerous is sure to inspire more beauty borrowing opportunities.
