Karl Lagerfeld Relaunching His Fragrance Line
It was just yesterday that Karl Lagerfeld announced the end of his perfume licensing agreement with Coty (the licensee which owns his current Kapsule & Kaleidoscope fragrances), but of course he had something else in the works! Karl, you so sneaky!
Today the Kaiser confirmed a new twenty-year contract with Inter Parfums SA. The plan is to start fresh (ha!), and create a fragrance that represents Lagerfeld's powerful presence in the fashion industry and the rest of the world.
"He is one of the most talented designers in the world, if not the most talented, which makes it a huge opportunity to develop fragrance under his name," Inter Parfums SA chairman and chief executive officer Philippe Benacin said.
The first fragrance is said to debut in 2014.
