Rachel Zoe Opening NYC Blow-Dry Bar
Rachel Zoe, hair tycoon?
The stylist-turned-Bravo-reality-star-turned-fashion-designer is making a move into the beauty biz with the opening of a New York City salon specializing in blowouts, People StyleWatch reports.
Due to open in the Flatiron District later this year, DreamDry will offer the “ultimate blowout” as well as “unprecedented, highly personalized services,” according to Zoe.
“Hair is the perfect way to reflect your personal style—it’s such an important component of creating and completing your look,” says Zoe, who is collaborating with former CAA agent Robin Moraetes on the venture.
“To me, hair should be considered an accessory—it changes by event, season, mood. With DreamDry, we are creating a place where women can go to ensure that their hair is consistently as stylish and chic as they are. [We will] take the blow-dry concept to the next level. We’re in the final stages of developing some amazing programs and technologies that will be totally unique to the overall DreamDry experience.”
And despite reports that her fashion line was in trouble, and that Bravo had considered pulling the plug on The Rachel Zoe Project—which was proved wrong when the network renewed the show for a fifth season—Zoe seems confident about expanding the DreamDry business nationwide.
“New York is my home and the fashion capital of the world—we couldn’t imagine a better place to put our first DreamDry salon,” she says. “But we’re not stopping here.” Watch out, world!
