Isaac Mizrahi To Launch ‘Fabulous’ Fragrance
Isaac Mizrahi has been spreading his wings, from launching lingerie to sportswear, the New York-based designer is finally breaking into the beauty arena with a new perfume.
Mizrahi just scored a beauty licensing deal with The Cloudbreak Group, now in charge of beauty products for the Isaac Mizrahi New York brand. After his fragrance foray, color cosmetics and skin care lines will follow shortly, bulking up his beauty offerings.
The new fragrance, entitled Fabulous, lives up to its name with a hot-pink atomizer, flirty polka-dotted neck and a sweet, sensual scent, featuring top notes of mandarin, nectarine and bergamot, along with hints of jasmine, tuberose, freesia, peony, sandalwood, vanilla and cedar.
Mizrahi, who has tossed around the idea of a fragrance for a while, tells WWD, “I feel like if you get married too young, it rarely works out. It’s the same thing with this—you get really very few chances at [creating a scent.] You have to get it right. There has to be care taken. That’s what all these years of experience have brought to this. I really want it to mean something and be special. Good perfumes are more cultural than product.”
