OVERALL TAKEAWAY: Rodriguez’s glamazons get accessorized
Narciso Rodriguez’s show was hotly anticipated, not merely because the man designs some pretty pieces, but because his new accessory line was unveiled on the runway. And the wait for those shoes was worth it.
Calf-length boots—a tricky height to be sure, but one of our favorites to wear—paraded out, along with gloves and two-tone bags.
Two-tone and colorblocking was a big theme throughout the collection, with a rusty orange pairing up with a brick red. This isn’t the over-the-top blocking we saw everywhere the last couple seasons; it’s subtle, elegant. Olive and chartreuse, black with a touch of color.
As always, Rodriguez sent out a slew of dresses that were artfully cut and folded, some with trains trailing. A tangerine, russet and brick dress looked light as air. No doubt we’ll see a star wearing this dress soon enough.
His coats, in contrast to the slinky dresses, were full and voluminous, reinforcing Rodriguez's architectural stylings.
