Editors weren't quite sure what to expect from Rachel Zoe, who staged her first runway show for her collection. (Last season was chic presentation.) As the previous group of editors came out, they were pounced upon by those waiting to set eyes on the line. But once we saw Baby Skyler (FYI: adorable) and the stunningly opulent surroundings at the Empire Hotel, we were happily ready for some Zoe.
And she didn’t disappoint. Zoe may design clothes she'd wear herself, but then, isn't that a good thing? The collection took inspiration from louche '60s rockstars—think young Mick Jagger in a skinny suit strutting about. Now add wide-brimmed hats, capes, faux-fur jackets, sequined mini-dresses and you get the idea of things.
While the fit of the pants wasn't ideal, Zoe excelled in the jackets and dresses. They were fun, chic, and screamed rockstar (or rockstar's girlfriend). And she mixed bright colors in with darker, classic autumnal blacks and greys for great results. Her faux furs could pass for the real deal (who doesn't love that?). We think Skyler would be rather proud.
