Ivanka Trump Debuts Ready-to-Wear Line at Lord & Taylor
The Trumps know how to draw a crowd. This isn't surprising, given that they comprise a large portion of the assembled wherever they go—given the volume of parents, in-laws, and siblings in the clan—but when Ivanka debuted her first ready-to-wear collection at Lord & Taylor in New York City last evening, it was a family affair.
She took to the front row sandwiched between her father, Donald (ever heard of him?), and husband Jared Kushner, who we spotted introducing his own parents to attendees after the show and sharing proud pictures of his infant daughter.
"This is such a tremendous validation of what I've been working on for so many years," Ivanka told the crowd before models hit the makeshift runway. "When I set out to create a ready-to-wear collection, I really was inspired by the same things I was for shoes and bags which was to create a very high-quality product at accessible price points for chic modern women."
And the looks are wearable for sure: vibrant prints, bold colors, nothing too loud for the boardroom but fun enough for after-hours drinks. 10% of last evening's sales went to Girl Up, a United Nations Foundation initiative that aims to develop adolescent girls internationally into the next generation of leaders.

It took some diligent boxing-out—thanks to our days in rec league basketball—to reach Ivanka, nearly squished by the exuberant crew assembled to glimpse her collection and glad-hand her father Donald, but she gamely chatted with a group of waiting reporters. We had to ask, given how much her work is tied to her family, is a baby line inspired by her daughter up next?
"I honestly think about it all the time. There's nothing I enjoy now more than shopping for my daughter. I have totally left myself by the wayside," she cheerily said.
