Emma Stone Covers Elle
Here comes the sun!
Though she's already returned to being a redhead, Emma Stone happily flashed her natural blonde hair along with scarlet lips, a killer yellow feathered Versace number, and Lanvin statement necklace, and on the sunny July cover of Elle. (Eat your heart out, Big Bird.)
Inside, The Help star stays mum about her relationship with ex-boyfriend Kieran Culkin ("you have to keep some things sacred"), but is more open about her struggle to make a name for herself in Hollywood.
"It’s so funny how different life could have been," she says. "I went to so many auditions. I remember my audition for Heroes. I went in right after Hayden Panettiere. Now here we are in this rented house. It feels like it just happened.”
Stone gets graphic in Elle. And though she's model-perfect in a sexy selection of polka-dot designs from the likes of Marc Jacobs and Sergio Rossi for the accompanying shoot by photographer Carter Smith, Stone (who calls herself a "good-looking kid" growing up) confesses that she appreciates roles in which beauty isn't paramount (such as the frizzy hair she sports to play Skeeter in The Help).
“I like to look like a person," she says. "It drives me crazy when you see women in movies playing teachers, and they have biceps. It totally takes me out of the movie. I start thinking, Wow, that actress playing this part really looks great!”
