Sure, we already love mineral makeup, but MAC’s new Semi-Precious Collection is a real gem. Made with four finely milled gems—bronzite, black tourmaline, gold pyrite, and lilac lepidolite—the natural mineral collection adds exciting “spirit” to the cosmetics giant’s already-adored mineralized line.
“It spawned from our incredible business in Brazil and an invitation to add some of the indigenous stones into the handmade formula,” MAC Senior Artist John Stapelton explained. “These semi-precious stones have long been regarded as healing, grounding, and energy-provoking. So why not infuse the makeup with a little ‘magic’?”
With hand-baked eye shadows, mascara, lipsticks, powders, blushes, and skincare formulas—all as luxurious as the next—the collection doesn’t miss a beat. (It even includes limited-edition brushes!) But the best part: It’s extraordinarily lightweight and infused with sparkle and shimmer that looks great on bronzed skin—a clear win for summer.
“They come in fewer shades that will work on everyone because they provide a more ‘scattered’ coverage, allowin your own skin tone to show through,” Stapelton said.
