Aside from the Superbowl, one of the most watched TV moments of the year, the highly anticipated annual Victoria's Secret fashion show aired last night on CBS.
FashionEtc got ultimate Angel access attending a live-streaming pre-show event, followed by a screening of the show with the Angels themselves.
Sipping champagne and pink cocktails, Veteran Angels Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanerpoel, Doutzen Kroes, Lily Aldridge and Behati Prinsloo were joined by several VS newbies, all lounging on the pink and white couches, cheering throughout the show as each lady worked the catwalk, with a burst of applause when Rihanna took the stage to sing 'Diamonds.'
While cater waiters hovered, drooling over the statuesque stunners, we got right in the leggy mix, chatting with Lily Aldridge and recently-named Angel, Behati Prinsloo, about prepping for the show and finally watching themselves strut it on the big screen.
What was the hardest part about training for the 2 weeks before the show?
LILY: Just wanting a cheeseburger. I wanted one so badly. I've already had a few since the show.
What do you enjoy most about seeing the show finally air?
LILY: We all worked so hard so I was so proud watching it. I just love being a part of the show and I hope I get to do it for year.
BEHATI: Every year, I watch the show and it's emotional. Every year I watch the show, and you know it's going to be this fun, but I forget how emotional I get.
Even though fashion means something special to us, it doesn't necessarily mean a lot to the world, but Victoria's Secret is such a global, iconic brand and being part of it is so incredible. I never thought in a million years that I would be here tonight, and every year I'm like. 'god dammit, I'm really here.. with Adriana and everyone.'
The first time I did the show, Adriana scared me in such a good way. She's so confident and sexy. I'm like, 'I'm goofy, I'm not like that.'
And we are all so close, even though we don't see each other every day. There is no bitchiness, there are a lot of stories, but in this group, its really like family. Seeing Candice up there as a child [there is a flashback of childhood pics of Candice in the middle of the show], I wanted to cry. So adorable.
