Rock & Republic will soon be sold only at Kohl's.

Rock & Republic, the rhinestone-pocketed denim line founded in 2002 by Michael Ball and Andrea Bernholtz, is leaving its designer-priced days behind in favor of something a bit more wallet friendly: Kohl’s.

Kohl’s Corp. and VF Corp., which acquired Rock & Republic in March after the company filed for bankruptcy in 2010, announced today that Rock & Republic will be sold exclusively in the thrifty department store, starting in Spring 2012.

Kohl’s exclusive brands include Simply Vera Vera Wang, LC Lauren Conrad, Elle Contemporary Collection, Daisy Fuentes, and apt. 9, as well as men’s and women’s collections by Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony that will bow this fall.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, these exclusive brands accounted for 48 percent of Kohl’s sales in 2010.

“We have a very large business with Kohl’s through our Lee Jeans division, as well as our Vans, JanSport, and licensed sports divisions. Our Lee teams know the Kohl’s stores incredibly well and we’ll leverage that expertise for the Rock & Republic jeans,” David Conn, president of the Retail Licensed Brands Group (a branch of VF Corp. that oversees Rock & Republic), told WWD.

Prices for the Kohl’s line have yet to be disclosed, but they will certainly be less than the brand’s original pricing, which currently ranges from $148 for a pair of denim leggings to $345 for a studded and distressed pair of jeans.
