“It’s an homage to the primary palette. The idea came from a book that was given to him; he took many of his inspirations from books. It’s quite strange that he chose this painter, because Piet Mondrian was not fashionable at the time. [In fact], he was rather out of fashion.” Müller notes that the dress revived interest in the painter to the point where, a few years after this, Mondrian had a big museum retrospective.
