SHOW: Emporio Armani Spring 2013

THEME: 'Neat'

HAIR: Franco Gobbi using Moroccanoil

MAKEUP: Linda Cantello using Giorgio Armani Cosmetics

ACCESSORIES: Oversized hoop earrings, two-tone bangles, peep-toe and ankle-strap heels, loafers, animal-print bags, and pieces in natural and cognac-hued leather, meant to channel a 'saddler feel'—think driving gloves and a raw-edge visor

OVERALL TAKEAWAY: Metallics will undoubtedly be a dominating trend for Spring 2013, and after London's kaleidoscope of juicy rainbow hues, it was lovely to see Giorgio Armani's more sublime take on the trend.

Complemented by golden eye makeup and nude lips, soft, sun-kissed shorts and a flash of silver and muted gold sequins under sleeveless wrap-style dresses proved that less is more, at least when you have the draping and immaculate tailoring skills of Maestro Armani.

Neutrals and the most delicate hints of pastel shades (blush, sky blue, etc.) were a major fixture of the clean and simple collection, which had tribal elements such as large hoop earrings and animal-print handbags.

We particularly loved a glossy metallic short suit with a structured vest top, pretty watercolor dresses, pastel mosaic prints, and icy-hued pleated tops with cowl necks pulled over one shoulder.

For daywear, look to a fluid power suit in oatmeal, plus a classic checked jacket with matching shorts. So sophisticated, so chic, so Armani.
