Launch Slideshow

Celebrity stylist and fashion consultant Ann Caruso will be blogging about the many stylish events and appointments she attends. Caruso has an illustrious career working for magazines like Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, InStyle as well as luxury brands. This week, she attended a Dennis Basso lunch, a cocktail party for the new Costume Institute exhibit, "Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations," and more!

Dennis Basso Lunch

Dennis Basso showed his Fall/ Winter Ready to Wear collection at Doubles for the Fashion Jet Set with an old school, glamorous luncheon. Models wore beautiful cocktail dresses, gowns, and furs. Guests included Coralie Charriol Paul, Ghislaine Maxwell,  Helen Schifter, Jamee Gregory, Jill Fairchild, Ivana Trump, Star Jones, Connie Anne Phillips, Pamela Fiori, Vanessa Noel, Alix Toub, Fern Mallis, Bettina Zilkha, Carol Mack, Amy Fine Collins, Caroline Barnett, Caroline Berthet, Valesca Hermes, and Dori Cooperman.

The Perrins

My friends, Sally and Michel Perrin, opened a gorgeous store at The Carlyle Hotel on 987 Madison Avenue and 76th Street, designed by Chahan Minassian. The Perrin house dates back to 1893, with a longstanding heritage of offering elegant and contemporary handbags, gloves, and leather accessories. It has a history of refinement and integrating the finest quality leather with first-rate craftsmanship. This is the place to come if you want a bag, gloves, or sunglasses that look a little different from the rest of the crowd. I’m lusting after the Ball Bag, it’s a must see! If you travel oversees, you need the Martha Stewart fave, The Martha Bag. See Pics.

Amazon Fashion at The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute celebrating Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations

I was invited to a private preview of the Met Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations Exhibition by Cathy Beaudoin, President of Amazon Fashion, and Julie Gilhart. There is always a feeling of wonderment I get when I walk into the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This exhibit stirred up even more, not knowing what to expect. It was a pleasure to view this. See the slideshow for a peek, but come to your own conclusion.

In attendance were:  Harold Koda, Andrew Bolton, Meredith Melling Burke, Harley Viera-Newton, John Bartlett, Victoria Bartlett, Robert Verdi, Mckenzie Liautaud, Monique Pean, Chris Schumacher, Kate Schelter, Julia Erdman,  Michelle Stein, Olivia Kim, Gabi Asfour, Carly Cushnie, Michelle Ochs, Sarah Sophie Flicker, Joey Jalleo, Hannah Bronfman, Albertus Swanepoel, Kim Hastreiter, and Zanna Roberts Rassi.
