How to Choose Quality Clothing for Babies and Kids

Whether it's the first outfit you buy for your baby or you are upgrading your child's closet, one thing is fact: a child goes through clothes very quickly!

So get ready to invest in a lot of clothes!

As a mother, comfort is critical for little ones! After all, they play, run, jump and get dirty. Would you do a jog or go to the gym wearing jeans and a heavy top? Probably not, right?

So for the child, it's the same thing. It is difficult to move and play in heavy, hard, fruited or armed clothes. Even babies (who still don't move much) deserve comfortable outfits. They are learning all about the world, moving little arms and little legs, getting to know their body and forming motor skills. Why leave them in uncomfortable clothes?

I always say I like children wearing quality clothes. A sweatshirt, leggings and a blouse, or colorful clothes with cute animal prints. There are so many adorable styles to choose from.

Here are some tips on how to choose clothes for babies and big kids:

Babies

When assembling the layette, take into account the time of year the baby will be born. For winter or colder regions, select warmer outfits without the need to cloak the baby. For any time of the year, mid-season outfits will be more useful.

What to avoid

To avoid causing discomfort to the baby, avoid collars, ruffles, embroidery, very tight elastics, and hard, heavy fabrics. Not that you can't have more stylish outfits, but leave those options for the events. In everyday life at home, the ideal is for the child to have freedom of movement. With a mid-season climate, for example, you can leave your baby girl in comfortable clothing or just in overalls.

Tip: Usually, the baby begins to crawl around 8 months, at this stage, it is essential to dress the child in clothes that do not prevent movement. Avoid overalls and trousers with feet. The freer the child is, the more skills he can develop.

Children

If you already have children over the age of 1, you have probably noticed how uncomfortable they are with certain clothes. Maybe your child is already choosing the clothes they prefer to wear. I've heard reports of mothers saying, "My son just wants to wear the same t-shirt or pants as usual." Probably this outfit brings comfort, like those old sneakers, which do not hurt your feet.

That heavy, thick jacket may be needed in some climates where the weather is cold, but wear it only when needed. Like going out, for example.

A controversial piece is denim. It is a clothing widely used in our society, but it has some styles where the material is too thick and heavy and is difficult to move. You can find soft fabric jeans. The child is comfortable without losing style.

Tip: Girls look beautiful in skirts and dresses. They can and should wear whatever style as long as they feel good. It is not ideal if the skirt needs to be constantly adjusted or the dress is bothering her. Choose comfortable dresses and skirts. For boys or girls, a well-made ensemble is always a good investment. Generally buying quality is more affordable than buying single trend driven pieces.

Regardless of season, prefer soft fabrics such as knit and viscose in the summer. Plush, sweatshirt or soft in winter. There are those who like to dress their children always in fashion. If you are part of this group and your child likes this style, go for it. What is not cool is forcing the child to wear something they are not comfortable in.
