The Ultimate Homecoming Checklist

Many people don’t think that homecoming is as big a deal as prom but it is still the perfect opportunity for a party. You could even treat your homecoming prep as a practice round for prom! Here are some
of the things you should think about if you have a homecoming dance to prepare for.

The Dress

One of the most important things you should look at is, of course, homecoming dresses. These tend to
be less formal than prom dresses – think cocktail dresses instead of gowns – but that does not mean
that you can’t find one which makes you look and feel like a princess. These Jovani homecoming
are stylish and would fit in well with most formal events. Double-check to see if your school has a dress code you need to follow before you commit to a dress; it will be heart-breaking if you buy one
you can’t wear!

Beforehand Prep

In the months running up to the dance, there are many things you can do to make sure you are as prepped as can be. The first thing you should do is make sure that you are drinking enough water. This will really make a difference to your skin and will help you to glow on the day. Book in for some facials and an eyebrow shape in the run-up so your face is completely prepped for the big day. Don’t stress out too much if you get a spot; you are still a teenager and acne is a fact of life. Pop some tea tree or witch hazel on it and focus on everything else.

Hair & Makeup

One of the big decisions you should make is whether you want to do your hair and makeup yourself or whether you want to hire a professional to help out. With hair, you can save quite a bit of money if you choose to do your hair yourself and look up an easy updo you can recreate at home. You also cannot go wrong with just simply curling your hair and wearing it down.

When it comes to makeup, you can very easily do it yourself. Book a consultation with either a makeup artist or at a specialist counter. Use this consultation to come up with a look and explain to the makeup artist that you want to be able to recreate it yourself on the day. They should be able to teach you how
to do it yourself. Make sure you test the products several times before the big night. You don’t want to find out you have a reaction to one of them on the night. This is especially important if you are using a new foundation is this is one of the makeup products most likely to cause a major breakout if it does
not agree with your skin.

Shoes & Accessories

When you have found the perfect dress, you are going to need the shoes and bag to match. While no-
one will be looking at your feet, the right shoes can help to bring together the outfit and finish it all off. Do you want heels or flats? Both have their advantages. No matter what kind of shoes you decide to get, you should definitely make sure to wear in the shoes before the night. No-one wants to get a blister from the back of their shoes rubbing while they are trying to dance. Don’t forget about your jewellery too!
The right necklace and earrings will be the perfect finishing touch to your outfit.

Getting There, and Back Again

How are you getting to and from homecoming? It is something which can be forgotten fairly often but
it is a crucial part of the evening. If you want to travel with a group of friends, you are going to need to book your transportation fairly far forward in advance. Don’t let everyone else claim the good limos or cars while you try to sort things out! Preparation and foresight are key!

Little Things You Shouldn’t Forget!

With a big event like homecoming, there are some things which you might forget while you are getting ready. Make sure your phone is fully charged so you can grab some selfies and don’t be afraid to take your charger along, especially if you are heading to an afterparty later. You should also make sure you have all the supplies you need to fix your makeup; lipstick and blotting sheets should be the minimum but you can also take along concealer and powder for some touch-ups if you need. Slip a travel-size spritzer of your favourite perfume into your bag too so you can smell fresh all night.

Homecoming is one of the best events in the high school social calendar. With this list, you will be in a great place to plan your perfect homecoming!
