Market Watch: Giles Deacon for Nine West
Nine West is really ramping up its collaborations. Following Sophie Theallet's turn as guest designer (in stores now), Giles Deacon has signed on to create some amazing pieces for the brand. I headed over to the Standard for a meet and greet, where I also got a sneak preview of Nine West's upcoming offerings.

The brand's own shoes (available August) are very much on trend with the runways. Snakeskin (embossed leather), bold colors, '70s, tiny bags—it's all there. The wedges were really nice—though I fall flat on my behind when I try to wear any kind of wedge. Thankfully Nine West has some adorable oxfords on hand for girls like me.
Giles Deacon's collection is a small yet fun showing of wedges, booties, and really chic flats. The line is based on Eek, a character created by Deacon. The bags come complete with a laptop case inside. This collection was shown in a graffiti-covered stairwell at the hotel, which was really fitting with the aesthetic of the items: chic pieces that promise a little bit of illicit fun. (Or, you know, shoes to wear out on Friday night.)
The prices for the items range from $99 to $149 and will also be in stores come August.
